When thousands of people donate no more than $100 per person per election, we can build a campaign without money from special interests.

Take a look at the case being heard today (Tuesday, Feb. 28) in the US Supreme Court which asks the court to determine whether reasonable limits on campaign spending is constitutional. The National Voting Rights Institute's press release is on our articles page. (Don't know how to put a link in here but the address to get to the full story, including briefs is: http://www.nvri.org/campaignspending/index.html)

If the Supreme Court upholds the limits in Vermont, this will allow more options to control the pressure to chase money. Currently, the only constitutional way to limit spending is with voluntary public financing which is working well in Maine, Arizona and other states.
